We would like to acknowledge the following funders who generously provided us with funding for our horses and programs:
Wellness CoalitionThe Wellness Coalition Wellspring Center gave us a sub award from the Compassion Capital fund in the amount of $12,500 to help us build our capacity and sustainability. This money was used to hire a program developer to write a self- esteem program for at risk youth using the EAGALA Equine Assisted Psychotherapy model. We were also able to send two staff members to the first of two EAGALA workshops to become Equine Specialists. In addition, these funds enabled us to purchase a new laptop and software, and update our website. The Wellness Coalition has been a tremendous help, providing a trail crew from Americorps to work on our ranch for a week. They were awesome, helping complete our chute and corrals, fire breaking our property, chipping away at rock to set posts in 2 foot holes, digging sand from the arroyo and placing it in our pens and stalls, and making a trail to our lower pasture. We are eternally grateful for their professionalism and kindred spirits.
American Humane AssociationThe American Humane Association's Meachum Memorial Foundation Grant Program gave us a generous award of $3,000 for construction projects. We were able to replace the roof on the barn, and add a room on the barn to store hay. In addition, we were able to purchase corral panels and gates to build a round pen and corral panels.
Build a Bear Workshop Bear Hugs FoundationBuild a Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation (whose mission is to make life more bearable for children, families, and pets, who are in need of a helping paw) gave us a gift of $1,000. This grant is made possible through the sale of their full-sized Bearemy Kennel Pals. One dollar from the sale of each plus animal is donated to this foundation. These funds will be used in the care and rehabilitation of our family of rescued horses.
